KIWANIS Club of Almaden Valley

Welcome to our club!

We are an active and vibrant club in the community. At our meetings, we host speakers from the local area and beyond to share information about organizations, events, and other interesting topics. Newcomers and visitors are welcome to join us at our meetings. We'd love to have you!

THE KIWANIS CLUB OF ALMADEN VALLEY KIWANIS HAS BEEN SERVING THE GREATER ALMADEN VALLEY COMMUNITY SINCE 1988!

The Kiwanis Club of Almaden Valley  was chartered on August 24, 1988. We currently have 22 members, and enough projects going on that we really need about twice that! We'd love for you to come join us at one of our meetings or a service project.

We meet the second Wednesday of each month from 6:15pm to 7:30pm, at the Cup & Saucer restaurant (near the corner of Blossom Hill and Meridian).

Projects & Community Outreach

Our club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Additionally, we have speakers at our weekly meetings to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth.  Here are just a few examples:

 Turn Around Scholarships

Turnaround Scholarships provides financial rewards to ‘at-risk’ high school seniors who have made admirable changes in their lives, allowing them to graduate and go on to attend college or other accredited training programs. This program is funded by Kiwanis Clubs of Almaden Valley (KCOV, Willow Glen, and Pueblo de San Jose chapters.

Special Games

The Kiwanis Special Games, hosted and organized by Division 34 with assistance from Division 12 (including Almaden Valley), is an all-day Special Olympics-type event where student athletes from around Santa Clara County participate in a variety of modified sports activities, winning ribbons for their efforts. It has been going on for over 33 years.

Sponsored Key Clubs

Kiwanis Club Almaden Valley sponsors the Kiwanis Key Clubs at Pioneer and Leland High Schools.  During the year we participate with them in many service projects for example this Holiday Food Drive.  Here we collect food at a local grocery store to distribute during the Holidays to the needy. Each year we get a different store to work with!

Joint Projects

Family Giving Tree

The Family Giving Tree Elves envision a world where every child feels like a valuable part of their community through a national belief in the power of giving.  KCOAV volunteers sort donated items to make sure each child, senior citizen or needy person gets the gift they've requested.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Second Harvest Food Bank feeds 210,000 people each month. Several times a year, KCOAV lends a hand in the Second Harvest warehouse to sort food items and package for distribution.
